Not all traders are the same. Some seek easy apps for trading on the go, while others look for advanced features like leverage or social trading. When reviewing exchanges, we cater to all types of traders, from occasional to frequent. We divided all traders into seven main target groups.
Our thorough yet straightforward method ensures a clear understanding of trading strategies and their requirements. By assessing, ranking, and recording key factors, we determine how well the exchange meets the needs of each target group. We use three types of rankings: perfect match, good choice, and not recommended. Here’s our verdict:
Crypto.com is an acceptable choice for Bot, Social & Copy Traders. The exchange offers extensive bot trading features, with a wide range of trading bots that can execute a variety of strategies. However, the lack of any social or copy trading features limits how highly we can rank the exchange for this group of users.
I found the trading bots on Crypto.com easy to use and suitable for both beginners and experienced users. The pre-configured bots are perfect for beginners who are just starting with automated trading, while advanced users can take advantage of the high level of customization available on the trading bots.
Crypto.com is a perfect match for Algorithmic Traders, with support for FIX 4.4 and WebSocket/REST APIs that offer institutional-grade Direct Market Access to all trading instruments available on the exchange. The API offers low, 2 millisecond latency, that enables high frequency trading with a wide range of supported order types.
I found the APIs easy to set up, even with little prior experience using them. The exchange offers extensive documentation to help users get set up and start trading API. Its API offers put it on par with other industry-leading exchanges, both in terms of accessibility and feature set.
Crypto.com is a perfect match for Casual Traders. It supports 425 coins and offers an intuitive, easy to navigate interface that is accessible for beginners and first time investors. Its robust security measures and regulatory compliance make it a secure choice for casual traders looking for a safe platform to start investing.
I found both the basic and advanced versions of the exchange extremely easy to use. The seamless Buy Crypto feature let me instantly purchase crypto using a credit/debit card as well as set up Recurring Buys for longer term DCA investing.
Crypto.com is a perfect match for Hodlers & Position Traders looking for a secure, user-friendly exchange to buy and hold assets. The exchange offers robust security measures, with 1:1 reserves on all user assets and a comprehensive insurance policy offering further protection.
I found Crypto.com to be one of the best exchanges for holding my long term investment. The exchange offers all the tokens I would want to invest in for the long term, with robust security and insurance measures in place. Its rigorous regulatory compliance also offers peace of mind that my assets are safe on a regulated exchange that complies with the strictest financial regulations.
Crypto.com is a perfect match for Day Traders, with its advanced desktop platform that offers advanced charting and technical indicators. Its deep liquidity also ensures tight spreads and minimal slippage across all available markets.
As an experienced trader, I found the desktop platform met all the requirements of being a top-tier platform. It offered all the tools and features I needed for technical analysis, along with a range of conditional order types and trading bots to support a wide range of trading strategies.
Crypto.com is a perfect match for Leverage & Derivatives traders, offering an advanced desktop platform with deep liquidity across a range of margin and futures markets. The platform provides a wide range of advanced tools and features that cater to the needs of advanced and professional futures traders.
My experience margin trading on Crypto.com was positive. I found the desktop platform easy to use, with all my trades executing instantly. However, I was disappointed by the strict geographic restrictions on derivatives trading, which meant I was unable to trade futures on the platform.

Crypto.com is available in over 120 countries worldwide, covering major regions but falling short of competitors like Bybit and KuCoin. However, Crypto.com’s main advantage is that it supports key regions like the US, UK, and EU, areas that are not fully supported by exchanges like Binance and Bybit.
The main restricted regions include parts of Asia, Africa, and South America, with countries like China, Russia, Iran, Iraq, Venezuela, and more. While residents of New York state cannot use the platform, it is available in all other US states. There are also restrictions on the availability of features like derivatives trading and OnChain Perpetuals, with leveraged products restricted across Europe and Asia-Pacific.
The full, up-to-date list of restricted regions can be found on Crypto.com’s website.
Welcome Offers & Sign-Up Bonus: New users can complete Welcome Pack missions to earn rewards paid in CRO, with simple tasks like applying for a Crypto.com Visa Card, or depositing and trading $50-$100 worth of crypto. The rewards are smaller than competitors like BingX, who offer up to $6000 in rewards, but the requirements are realistic and don’t require you to accumulate millions in trade volume.
Bonuses/Promotions: Crypto.com’s Rewards Hub offers daily missions such as trading $100 worth of crypto. Completing missions earns users diamonds, which can be redeemed for prizes including mystery boxes, UFC Fight Passes, and even signed football or NBA jerseys.
On top of that, Crypto.com runs regular campaigns where users can buy or stake certain coins for the chance to earn rebates, rewards, and crypto prizes. There are usually several campaigns running at the same time, so users have plenty of opportunities to take part.
The exchange is also currently offering 0% maker fees for 12 months on a single coin of your choice. Simply choose your favourite spot coin to trade and Crypto.com will let you trade that coin for 12 months with zero maker fees and no cap on trading volume.
Referral Program: The Crypto.com referral program gives referrers up to $35 per referral, provided the referee completes three simple tasks. This offers a greater upfront reward compared to commission-based rewards; however, the long term returns may be lower than competitors like Binance who offer referrers up to a 50% commission on all trading fees paid by referred users.
Crypto.com is best known for its Visa cards that come with cashback rewards and a variety of additional perks that include airport lounge access and rebates on subscriptions such as Spotify and Netflix. The program operates on a tiered system, depending on your monthly subscription or the amount of CRO you have locked up.
Users with $50,000 or more in staked CRO receive unlimited cashback rewards, with access to private account managers, free airport lounge access, and permanent rebates on their Spotify, Netflix, and Truth+ subscriptions.

Crypto.com was founded in 2016 by Bobby Bao, Gary Or, Kris Marszalek, and Rafael Melo. Bobby and Rafael brought extensive experience in banking and finance, while Gary and Kris had previously worked together on several successful tech startups.
Originally based in Hong Kong, the company moved its headquarters to Singapore in 2021, largely due to Singapore’s clearer regulatory environment. Today, Crypto.com operates globally, with major offices in cities such as Paris, London, Dublin, Washington D.C., and Tyler, Texas.
Crypto.com offers robust security measures, full transparency, and comprehensive insurance coverage. However, the exchange has suffered security breaches in the past, with a $33.7M hack in 2022 and a data leak that occurred in 2023.
🏦 Fully licensed in the US, UK, EU, UAE, Canada, Australia, and more
🧾 Offers full Proof of Reserves showing reserves on your individual tokens

Crypto.com offers fully transparent Proof of Reserves, with the platform employing the Merkle Tree mechanism, which allows users to individually verify their assets are backed, in real time. The exchange was also independently audited by Mazars, a leading international auditing firm that works with some of the largest institutions in the world. Their audit concluded that Crypto.com holds 100% or more reserves across a wide range of coins, more than covering user deposits at the time.
Crypto.com offers one of the most extensive insurance programs in the industry. The platform holds a $750M third-party policy covering all crypto assets held in its cold storage. USD balances held in Cash Earn programs are also protected with up to $5M in FDIC insurance. Institutional clients also have their crypto assets insured with a separate $120M third-party policy, offering complete peace of mind for both retail and institutional users.
Users can secure their accounts with Google Authenticator 2FA, biometric passkeys, withdrawal whitelists, anti-phishing codes, and an optional 24-hour withdrawal delay to minimize the risk of unauthorized access and withdrawals.
Crypto.com also provides an Account Protection Program that reimburses users up to $250,000 USD in the event of an unauthorized withdrawal of either crypto or fiat. To be eligible, users must have 2FA enabled, anti-phishing codes, and a 24-hour withdrawal lock enabled. Very few exchanges offer this type of protection, making it a standout feature that gives users greater reassurance that their assets are safe.
Crypto.com is one of the most heavily regulated exchanges in the world. It is registered with FinCEN in the U.S. and holds multiple licenses to operate across 49 states. In the EU, it is fully licensed under MiCA, and in the UK it is registered as a Crypto-Asset Business with the FCA. The exchange also holds licenses across the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and Americas, reinforcing its reputation as a globally compliant platform.
Crypto.com focuses on stability and secure operations, being the first crypto exchange in the world to hold a full suite of security certifications, including SOC 2, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, ISO 22301, and PCI DSS v4. These security certifications ensure the platform complies with rigorous global security and privacy standards.
The exchange also runs a bug bounty with HackerOne, offering rewards of up to $2M for discovering critical level vulnerabilities. This is one of the highest bounty rewards in the industry and far higher than the typical $5,000 max bounty.
The company is also active across all social media platforms, posting daily on X (Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Discord, and Reddit.
Independent security auditors consistently rank Crypto.com as one of the safest exchanges in the industry. The exchange was praised for its extensive regulatory compliance, range of security certifications, and comprehensive insurance coverage.

KYC is mandatory for all users, with the platform integrating verification as part of the registration process. Unlike competitors that offer tiered verification, Crypto.com requires everyone to submit an official ID along with a bank statement or utility bill for proof of address.
During my testing, the KYC process was quick and easy. Both my ID and proof of address were approved in under 5 minutes. The only issue was that the platform doesn’t accept bank statements from fintech banks like Revolut, so I had to use a statement from a traditional bank instead.
Based on our testing and independent reviews, Crypto.com stands out as one of the most secure exchanges in the industry. It combines robust account security features, transparent Proof of Reserves, and comprehensive insurance coverage to protect user assets in the event of a security breach.
The only noticeable security incident in its history is a hack from 2022, where hackers withdrew approximately $33.7M worth of crypto. However, thanks to its insurance coverage, all affected users were fully reimbursed without delay.
Crypto.com delivered a smooth, intuitive trading experience on both its desktop and mobile platforms. The availability of separate basic and advanced platforms means the exchange is perfect for both beginners and professional traders alike, with an experience that’s tailored to the needs of each group.

For our trading test, we thoroughly evaluated the Crypto.com platform. Our process included signing up, completing the KYC (Know Your Customer) verification, logging in, depositing funds, and making withdrawals. We also tested the trading functionalities by exploring different trading pairs and conversions, and assessed the associated fees for transfers and withdrawals. This comprehensive test allows us to provide an informed and reliable review of the exchange’s usability, features, and actual costs. Here’s our detailed analysis:
Signing up for Crypto.com was quick and easy. I registered using my email address and created a passcode; it also sent verification codes to both my email and phone number. Crypto.com also supports third-party sign-in using a Google or Apple account.
It then took me through the KYC verification process, asking me about my expected yearly transaction volume, source of funds, and country of residence. I was also asked to submit a picture of either my passport, drivers license, or government-issued ID card, along with a selfie. I completed this step on my phone and my account was verified in less than 5 minutes.
After this, I was also prompted to prove my residential address using a bank statement, utility bill, or government-issued letter. At first I submitted a bank statement from a fintech bank (Revolut) which was rejected, however my second attempt using a traditional bank was accepted within 5 minutes.
I deposited 0.65 LTC from Bybit, paying 0.0001 LTC in network fees. The funds arrived in my Crypto.com wallet within 5 minutes, with zero deposit or wallet creation fees from Crypto.com. Crypto.com also made me disclose where the funds came from, including the name of the sender and the exchange it was sent from, something I have not seen from any other exchanges.
I was also able to deposit EUR into my account via SEPA transfer without any issues. Since it was my first fiat deposit, I had to answer a few extra verification questions before being able to make a deposit. Once I received my account details, I sent EUR from my bank, and the funds appeared in my Crypto.com account within a few minutes.
Trading on the Crypto.com mobile app was quick and easy. I was able to place a limit order to sell LTC for USDC, which executed precisely when the market price reached my limit order and cost me 0.0053 LTC in trading fees. I was then able to instantly buy LTC using a market order, which cost me 0.40 USDC in trading fees.
Withdrawing LTC over the Litecoin network was quick and easy. I simply chose to withdraw crypto, selected Litecoin, and entered the address I wanted to withdraw to. I was prompted to enter 2FA codes via SMS and Google Authenticator, after which my funds were sent. I was charged 0.002 LTC as a network fee, 20x higher than the fee charged by Bybit for a withdrawal over the same network.
Crypto.com’s Exchange platform is a powerful trading platform with a range of advanced tools and features that make it perfect for professional traders. Its intuitive order forms and familiar design make it easy for traders to switch from other platforms with minimal friction.
| Tools for Active Traders | Availability |

| Order Book Depth | Yes |
| Advanced Charting | Yes |

| MetaTrader 4/5 Support | No |
Crypto.com’s trading interface offers a range of advanced tools without feeling cluttered or overly complex. It follows the standard layout of most exchanges, with the price chart in the centre with order forms off to the right.
The TradingView charts offer multiple time intervals for analysis, letting traders quickly switch between higher and lower timeframes. Real-time orderbook data is clearly displayed, showing current market sentiment along with recent trade data.
The markets page lets users explore all the coins available on Crypto.com. It lets you see popular coins, top gainers/losers, top volume, and new listings. The advanced Exchange platform also lets you filter coins by category such as memecoins, AI, Solana, L1/L2, DeFi, and more.
All staking products offer clear explanations of the staking terms, including lock-up period, APY rate, reward token, and estimated rewards. This transparency makes it easy for beginners to start earning passive income without having to deal with nasty surprises down the line.
Crypto.com’s API offers institutional-grade Direct Market Access (DMA) using FIX and Websocket/REST APIs. It was easy to set up, even with basic technical knowledge, offering the ability to access market data and trade all instruments available on the exchange with low 2 millisecond latency.
Overall, the Crypto.com Exchange desktop platform delivered a seamless and intuitive trading experience that is perfect for advanced and professional traders. The platform’s advanced TradingView charts allowed for detailed technical analysis, and its conditional order options made it easy to execute more complex strategies, such as TWAP, which many exchanges still don’t offer. At the same time, the basic platform provides a perfect environment for beginners who want a safe platform to get familiar with crypto.
There are some drawbacks, such as the lack of Copy and Social trading features, especially given these are now standard on many competitors like Binance and Bybut. It would also be great to see additional conditional order types, such as Iceberg orders. I’d also prefer to see TWAP integrated directly into the native order forms rather than it being limited to a trading bot.
Crypto.com is best known for its mobile app, with the platform offering two separate apps that cater to beginners and experienced traders individually. I tested the app on both iOS and Android, with the app delivering a seamless trading experience without any bugs or glitches.
The Crypto.com app is geared towards beginners, making it easy for first time investors to buy crypto and set up recurring buys. The Crypto.com Exchange app is tailored towards experienced traders, offering an experience that is comparable to industry-leaders like Binance. For the purpose of this review, we will be focusing on the more advanced Crypto.com Exchange app.
Coin Search: The search bar lets you quickly search the hundreds of coins available on Crypto.com, displaying the last price, 24h change, and trading volume. You can also sort coins by 24h change or trading volume to see the top gainers/losers and hot markets to trade.
Trading Experience: My experience trading on the mobile app was seamless. I particularly appreciated the TradingView integration, which offered a wide range of technical indicators and drawing tools for in-depth technical analysis. The mobile order forms also offered a high degree of customisation and showed realtime market depth, which is key when trading advanced trading strategies.
Market Discover: Users can explore markets directly from the homepage, where Crypto.com displays popular coins, top gainers/losers, most traded, and newly added coins. The only missing feature is the ability to filter coins by categories like memecoins, AI, DeFi, etc., which helps explore coins in specific sectors.
Watchlist Management: You can favorite any coin by simply pressing the start next to the trading pair name. This adds the coin to your favorites tab on the homepage, search bar, and markets page, making it easy to track price changes on your top coins.
Price Alerts: Users can set custom price alerts for any coin, sending a push notification if your selected coin rises above or drops below your predetermined level. However, it only lets you set notifications for price changes, unlike Bybit who lets users set alerts for volatility, open interest changes, and funding fee reminders, in addition to its cutting-edge AI trading signals.
Portfolio Clarity: The Accounts page offers a basic overview of your assets, showing a breakdown of your holdings across spot, on-chain staking, and trading bot accounts. You can see a detailed view of the different assets held, along with a graph to show your account performance over time.
Overall, the Crypto.com Exchange app is the perfect companion to the desktop platform. Offering advanced trading tools and features like TradingView integration, advanced order forms, and realtime market depth. It delivered a seamless trading experience that enabled me to monitor my positions and open new trades whilst on the go.
However, there are some areas that could be improved. Particularly when it comes to market discovery and price alerts. The ability to filter markets by market segment would put the app on par with industry-leaders like Binance and Bybit, who offer greater market discovery tools and more advanced price alerts.
Crypto.com’s spot and derivatives fees are higher than what you’d find on Binance and Bybit. However, it stands out for its low cost fiat transactions, with zero fiat deposit fees via bank transfer and extremely low withdrawal fees.
💱 Spot fees: 0.25% maker & 0.50% taker
💹 Derivative fees: 0.05% maker & 0.07% taker
✅ Transparent fee structure with discounts for high-volume or CRO holders.
⚠️ Higher trading fees than other leading exchanges
In our review of spot fees, we examine spot fees across three tiers, focusing on trading volume differences. We highlight basic fees, possible savings with native tokens, and other discount schemes. This method offers a clear view of fee structures and savings for traders of all levels, comparing them to industry standards to assess affordability.
| Pricing Tier | Maker/Taker Fee | Industry Average |
| Up to $10k | 0.25% / 0.50% | 0.41% / 0.51% |
| Up to $100k | 0.15% / 0.25% | 0.33% / 0.37% |
| Up to $500k | 0.10% / 0.20% | 0.25% / 0.29% |
Crypto.com’s spot trading fees start at 0.25% for maker orders and 0.50% for taker orders. These rates are noticeably higher than Binance and Bybit, both of which charge just 0.1% for maker and taker orders. Users can unlock lower fees by increasing their 30-day trading volume or by holding a larger amount of CRO tokens.
Margin trading fees follow the same structure as spot trading, starting at 0.25% for maker orders and 0.50% for taker orders. In addition to these fees, margin traders have to pay interest on borrowed funds, with daily interest rates starting at 0.0112% and rising to 0.08% depending on the asset. Interest rates are also tiered, offering lower rates to users who hold CRO tokens.
Derivatives trading fees start at 0.05% for maker orders and 0.07% for taker orders, which is slightly higher than exchanges like Binance that charge 0.02% maker and 0.04% taker. Due to geographic restrictions, I wasn’t able to test the derivatives trading directly on Crypto.com, so I couldn’t evaluate the actual trading or funding fees across its futures markets.
Crypto.com rewards users who hold its native CRO token with significant fee discounts. Discounts start at 3% for users holding up to 1,000 CRO, and scale all the way to 0.1% rebates on maker orders and a 30% discount on taker orders for users with more than 5M CRO. These incentives make Crypto.com ideal for high-volume traders who hold significant amounts of CRO.

Fiat withdrawal fees are also among the lowest in the industry. USD and EUR withdrawals via ACH or SEPA are free, and GBP withdrawals via FPS cost just £1.90, which is still lower than most competitors. Wire and SWIFT transfers are available but come with noticeably higher fees, so we suggest avoiding them if possible.
Crypto.com’s deposit and withdrawal fees are extremely competitive and among the lowest in the industry, with free fiat deposits across a range of fiat currencies and payment methods. However, its trading fees, for both spot and derivatives, are noticeably higher than competitors like Binance and Bybit.
As an all-round platform, Crypto.com offers a reasonable selection of coins that cover everything from large-cap tokens to popular memecoins. However, it does not offer the latest trending memecoins or niche altcoins, nor does it offer a launchpad for investing in upcoming projects.

Crypto.com’s fiat withdrawal limits are on par with industry-leaders like Kraken, with daily limits of $100,000 or equivalent. However, crypto withdrawals have a daily limit of 10 BTC or equivalent, which is far less than competitors like Binance who offer up to 96M USDT in daily withdrawal for the highest volume traders.
Crypto.com provides 24/7 customer support through live chat, but lacks support via email which puts it at a disadvantage compared to competitors like Kraken, who offer multiple support channels. Although the platform supports a wide range of languages, the quality and depth of responses we received varied.

To assess customer service quality for diverse users, we created a unique test. We contact customer support through all available channels, presenting hypothetical problems users might face. We focus on response speed, response quality, and whether we speak to a real person or a bot. This tests customer support for both active traders and casual investors.
When you open the live chat, you are first greeted by a bot, but you can immediately ask to speak to a human agent. In our testing, we were connected to an agent in under two minutes. I then asked our standard set of questions, but the first agent requested my account details, even though that information was unnecessary for the questions I had asked.
That same agent also claimed that the exchange does not insure customer assets, which directly contradicts Crypto.com’s publicly available information, and they left the rest of my questions unanswered. I was later connected to a second agent who was able to offer much clearer and more detailed responses to each query.
Overall, the experience was mixed. The first interaction fell short of expectations, while the second agent I spoke to was closer to what you’d hope for from a top-tier exchange. As a result, Crypto.com ranks behind competitors like Kraken, who offer consistently helpful and timely responses to my questions.
