Gold markets continue to be choppy in general, but having said that it looks as if the $1250 level is offering support. I think that there is a significant amount of resistance at the $1260 level above based upon the sudden stop and the previous uptrend line offered resistance so, so if we can break above there, things change.

Gold markets as you can see pulled back slightly during the trading session on Thursday, but the $1250 level looks to be very supportive. I think eventually we could build up enough momentum to go higher, but right now market seem to be needing to build up the momentum slowly. Because of this, I think that eventually we go looking towards the $1275 level, and that eventually the $1300 level after that. Alternately, if we break down below the $1240 level, the market should then go to the $1225 level, and that eventually the $1200 level. I think gold markets continue to be very volatile, based upon interest rate outlook of several central bank around the world.

I think that the market is probably more of a longer-term buy-and-hold type of situation, perhaps for investors. Since the Bitcoin bubble, gold has suffered at the hands of people who use it as a store of value, but longer-term gold has always fared well, and there’s nothing in the economic condition of the world that suggests it’s going to be different 10 years now. That being the case, I think that the market should be one that you look at in terms of years, not days. However, if you are short-term trader, I think you need to be quick to take profits as the markets work in your favor. The markets offer plenty of opportunities, but you must be nimble.
