Analysis and Recommendation:

The NZD/USD  added 30 points after Governor Wheeler’s speech today and the decline in the US dollar. The kiwi climbed to 0.7392.  The NZD was positive today ahead of a slew of economic data from China.

Due shortly is, industrial output likely accelerated last month, with economists polled by Reuters predicting an annual rise of 6.00 percent, higher than March’s 5.60 percent gain. China’s retail sales may grow 10.5 percent on-year in April, following March’s 10.2 percent increase, while year-to-date fixed asset investment is expected to hold steady at 13.5 percent.

Comments from Reserve Bank of New Zealand Governor Wheeler keep hitting the headlines this time reiterating, , that the New Zealand dollar level remains unsustainable and unjustified. Wheeler added that he is worried for the health of the NZ economy if dairy prices stay low another year. Wheeler also said that the RBNZ is still finalizing new forecasts for June.

The kiwi traded strong ahead of Wheelers presentation and the fell steadily as Graham spoke only to reverse course and climb steadily in response to the lower US dollar.
