S&P 500 Forecast January 7, 2016, Technical Analysis

The S&P 500 fell during the course of the session on Wednesday, breaking below the 2000 level again. There is a significant amount of support just below though, and we did bounce towards the end of the day. The question then he comes whether or not the FOMC Minutes will move the markets. If that doesn’t, we also have the Nonfarm Payroll numbers coming out on Friday, so at this point in time we are standing on the sidelines but we recognize that a move above 2020 would be a very bullish move. The market selling off from here will have a lot to deal with, but if we get down below the 1970 level, the selling could accelerate.
