Natural gas prices moved lower on Monday but appear to have held support levels near 2.25. Colder than normal weather is now moving its way across most of the western portion of the United States and if its spread could buoy prices.
Support on natural gas prices is seen near the recent lows at 2.19, while resistance is seen near the breakdown level at 2.40. Momentum has turned positive as the MACD (moving average convergence divergence) index generated a buy signal. This occurs as the spread (the 12-day moving average minus the 26-day moving average) crosses above the 9-day moving average of the spread.
