The annual inflation rate in Georgia rose to 4.3% in July 2025, from 4% in the previous month. This marked the highest reading since March 2023, as prices increased at a faster pace for food and non-alcoholic beverages (10.4% vs 10.1% in June), restaurants and hotels (6.7% vs 6.0%), health (9.5% vs 9.4%), while education costs remained steady at 4.6%. At the same time, costs fell at a softer pace for transport (-3.8% vs -5.3%) and communication (-6.9% vs -13%). Meanwhile, inflation slowed for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (3.7% vs 4.6%), miscellaneous goods and services (5.5% vs 6.7%), and housing and utilities (0.8% vs 1.0%). Deflation also deepened for clothing and footwear (-2.8% vs -0.8%) and recreation and culture (-1.4% vs -0.5%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.2% in July—the first decline in eleven months— following a flat reading in June.
