Italy’s retail sales rose 0.5% month-on-month in October 2025, topping market forecasts of a 0.4% gain and rebounding from a downwardly revised 0.4% drop in the previous month. Sales increased for both food (0.5% vs -0.3% in September) and non-food products (0.4% vs -0.4%). On an annual basis, retail sales climbed 1.3%, following an upwardly revised 0.7% growth in September, as food sales rose further (2.3% vs 1.9%) and non-food sales rebounded (0.5% vs -0.2%). Among non-food items, the largest increase was observed in perfumery and personal care products (4.2%), while the sharpest fall was seen in household appliances, radios, televisions, and tape recorders (-2.2%).
