Latest Updates
Slovakia’s economy grew by 0.4% year-on-year in the second quarter or 2024, below market forecasts of a 1% expansion and easing from a 0.9% rise in the previous period, preliminary estimates showed. While this marked the ninth consecutive quarter of expansion, it was the slowest in the sequence, weighed down by weaker domestic demand, particularly household spending and investments. On a seasonally adjusted quarterly basis, GDP rose by 0.1% from 0.2% growth in the preceding period, the weakest pace since the third quarter of 2022.
