The Nikkei gained slightly today in quiet trading. The CB Consumer Confidence data will be seen in the States today. Tomorrow Japan will release Industrial Production and inflation data.

U.S Markets Open for Business Today, Home Price Index on the Schedule

North America will see not only U.S traders involved today, but the return of their Canadian counterparts. Wall Street declined on Tuesday, and Apple led the tailspin on reports iPhone X sales will fall short of expectations. Pending Home Sales numbers will come from the States today, along with the Conference Board’s important Consumer Sentiment data.

Industrial and Inflation Data from Japan Tomorrow, Nikkei Manages to Gain

The Nikkei managed to achieve slight gains today, along with the Topix Index. The Nikkei has gained more than 18 percent this past year, and the Topix has climbed over 19 percent. The Yen remains rather tranquil against the U.S Dollar as trading volumes in forex remain underwhelming. Industrial Production and Retail Sales numbers will come from Japan tomorrow, along with an inflation report.

European Equities Mixed and Quiet, German Inflation Numbers Friday

European equities have opened mixed this morning as some investors trickle back into their offices. Today’s High Street Lending report from the U.K had little effect on the broad markets. Tomorrow’s Economic Bulletin from the European Central Bank will be examined, but Germany’s inflation data which is scheduled on Friday could be a source for bigger impetus. The Euro and Pound have continued to range trade against the U.S Dollar early.

Bullish Speculative Behavior in Gold, Precious Metal Buyers Remain Strong

Gold has proven strong the past day and has maintained its gains as it trades near 1290.00 U.S Dollars an ounce. Holiday trading remains thin, which could lead to abrupt price swings, but speculators appear bullish in the short term.

Home Sales Numbers Coming from States, ECB Economic Bulletin Thursday  

U.S investors will look at the Consumer Confidence reading closely upon its release at 15:00 GMT.
