Exness group, the Limassol based broker, has pledged up to 1M euro financial aid to combat the virus in Cyprus in the form of donations to key funds and medical bodies or financial support to frontline health professionals who are tackling the crisis headfirst.

The first of these actions was a donation to the The Cyprus Institute of Neurology & Genetics (CING) of equipment to conduct an even greater number of laboratory tests for the coronavirus (SARS-COVID19).

In a press statement the CING commented: “We are pleased to announce the generous donation of Exness, which we interpret as recognition of our contribution to the management of the coronary crisis in our country,” said the Chief Medical Officer of the Institute of Neurology & Genetics, Prof. Leonidas Phylactou.

According to Prof. Phylactou, offering this state-of-the-art technological equipment, which serves the first of the two stages of virus detection, will increase the speed and number of samples we can analyze simultaneously even though we are already in the very good levels compared to other countries.

On his end, Exness CEO Petr Valov said that seeing the high speed at which the virus has spread to other countries, such as Italy and Iran, it is our duty to support the medical sector in Cyprus in order to avoid the worst-case scenario. “I am inviting other private companies in Cyprus to support our efforts and to stand by the efforts of Cyprus health professionals to meet this enormous challenge.”

As it is known, the laboratory of the CING already has the necessary equipment for performing the molecular detection of coronavirus, which, as recently announced by the Ministry of Health and Public Health, is the only reliable method of laboratory diagnosis of the virus.

The equipment provided by Exness has been ordered and will be installed at the CING as soon as possible. This donation is one of many actions Exness is taking to combat the virus, as the company is not just helping fight this crisis on a public level but is also setting an example by establishing a work-from-home policy for all its staff until the crisis is resolved, something identified as crucial in containing the virus from spreading further and protecting vulnerable groups of the population.
