Asian equities continued to gain today, after some cautious buying on Wall Street yesterday via the S&P and NASDAQ.
Data will be relatively light from the U.S today with the JOLTS Job Openings. Germany has turned in solid Industrial Production figures. The Euro and Pound have been weaker this morning.
While the Dow Jones Industrials produced slight selling, the S&P and NASDAQ did gain cautiously on Monday. Data will be relatively light from the U.S today with some jobs numbers, but Canada will release Housing Starts results. A Consumer Credit report from the States yesterday proved stronger than expected. The U.S Dollar has gained against many of the major currencies early this morning.
Asian equities displayed more strength today with gains across the boards. Consumer Confidence data from Japan came in with a disappointing result, but its Average Cash Earnings statistics proved better than expected. Early tomorrow China will release inflations figures via its Consumer Price Index. The Yen is trading below 113.00 against the U.S Dollar.
German Trade Balance and Industrial Production data this morning proved quite strong with significant improvements. The Euro however has lost some value as it traverses above the 1.19 juncture against the U.S Dollar. The Pound has also experienced selling pressure. Tomorrow the U.K will present its Manufacturing Production data. And European equities have been slightly stronger this morning.
Gold has faced headwinds this morning and is near 1314.00 U.S Dollars an ounce. However, the commodity remains within a higher valued range and it has not experienced abrupt pricing spikes, which may signal calm conditions for traders near term.
Housing Sectors Data from Canada, More Employment Figures from U.S
U.S investor will get another dose of employment data when the Jolts Job Openings numbers are released at 15:00 GMT.
