Major tech stocks looks a bit threatened in early trading on Friday.
Tesla looks like it’s under a little bit of pressure, although it has flipped over to positive in pre-market trading. When you look at the way it’s behaved over the last month or so, it certainly looks like there are a lot of concerns here.
The $350 support level is now acting like a magnet for price, and we are getting ready to see the 50-day EMA break down below the 200-day EMA, kicking off the so-called death cross. This, of course, is a very ugly turn of events and could lead to even more selling. I would need to see the $364 level taken out to the upside to become bullish at this point.
Palantir looks miserable and it certainly looks like it is going to test the $128 support level almost immediately. If it breaks down below there, we could see a drop down to $117 followed by $100 pretty quickly. The earnings call that everybody will be waiting for will be on the 11th of May, so we have some time.
This is just a technically broken stock, perhaps, part of the AI bloodbath that we’ve seen just kind of continues, but this is not a good look. If we can wipe out the losses from the Thursday candlestick, then yes, that would be positive. It would suggest that we are going to stay in a range, but as things stand right now, that looks dangerous.
Super Micro Computer looks like it’s going to be relatively flat. It is still under pressure, and I think that might continue to be the case here as well. It’s just anything technology related, just is seemingly struggling at the moment and that might be your theme for the day.
Keep in mind that this is all through the backdrop of JD Vance heading to Pakistan to negotiate with the Iranians. Monday is probably a big day, Friday might just be on the choppy side.
