Serbia’s unemployment rate rose to 9.1% in the first quarter of 2025, from 8.6% in the previous three-month period, marking the highest rate since the Q1 of 2024. The number of unemployed people rose by 16.3 thousand quarter-on-quarter to 289.4 thousand, while the employment fell by 7.8 thousand to 2.89 million. Meanwhile, the labor force participation rate increased by 0.3 percentage points to 56.6% in the first quarter of 2025.
