Retail sales in Argentina increased by 66.9% in April 2025 compared to the same period last year at current prices, easing from the 86.7% increase recorded in the previous month. Most retail sectors showed slower growth, such as bookstores and stationery stores (42.3% vs. 68.6% in March), food courts and restaurants (74.1% vs. 92.0%), clothing, footwear and leather goods (53.2% vs. 78.3%) and pharmacies and perfumeries (50.5% vs. 70.4%). Others grew even more slowly, such as toys (80.6% vs. 112.5%) and electronics and IT (93.8% vs. 137.7%). On the other hand, leisure and recreation (123.6% vs. 71.9%) was the only sector with a significant increase. When adjusted to constant prices, retail sales rose 19.2% year-on-year, down from the 26.8% increase in March.
