FXEmpire has developed a ranking system to evaluate advanced trading platforms. However, Remitano does not fully meet these criteria, as it primarily offers a simplified crypto swap tool and P2P trading service without advanced features. That said, the platform can still be a good choice for beginner traders and long-term hodlers. For this reason, we have removed the standard rating and instead focused on reviewing the platform’s features for users interested in this type of solution.
🏢 Remitano is a crypto exchange founded in 2014, with its headquarters in Seychelles.
🤝 It offers two main services: P2P trading and a crypto swap tool.
💱 Asset swaps incur a 0.25% fee. P2P trading is free for takers and carries a 1% fee for makers.
🪙 The platform supports around 40 cryptocurrencies and has many fiat payment options. This makes it suitable for users in various regions.
🔐 Security level is low. Even though Remitano uses standard security tools and has strong KYC/AML rules, it was hacked in 2023 and does not show Proof of Reserves.
✅ Remitano is still a good choice for beginners who want to buy crypto easily and quickly.

Remitano is available in 110 countries, as it partners with Guardarian to process fiat‑to‑crypto transactions. This number aligns with industry standards, and availability in the US is a big pro. Although it offers wide coverage, it still lags behind competitors like KuCoin and Binance.
Remitano is mostly restricted in third‑world countries and is also prohibited from operating in some regions, such as:
Since the list of supported countries can change, we recommend checking the platform’s blog for the most up‑to‑date information.
Remitano frequently launches promotional campaigns, all of which are listed in the Rewards Center. During testing, I came across several offers: loyalty badges, cashback vouchers, and more – but none of them functioned as intended, making it impossible to claim any rewards.
The platform also runs a referral program that provides users with an additional way of earning passive income. Users may earn a 40% commission from the trading fees paid by their invitees.
Establishment: Founded in 2014, Remitano is headquartered in Seychelles. This jurisdiction is often associated with lax regulatory standards and limited consumer protection, which does little to inspire confidence. The platform initially targeted users in Nigeria and Malaysia but has since expanded its reach globally.
Leadership: Remitano was founded by Dang Hyunh, who operates from Vietnam and holds a degree from Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Remitano’s security is below industry standards and raises concerns, especially for users planning to hold large amounts on the platform. Despite offering some common protections, its lack of transparency and poor handling of past incidents make it hard to fully trust.
🔓 Suffered a $2.7M hack in 2023 with no official statement about user compensation.
🚫 No Proof of Reserves and no deposit insurance, which limits user protection.
On the positive side, Remitano offers:
🔐 Basic security features like 2FA, biometric login, and an anti-phishing code.
🐞 Bug bounty program available, with rewards up to $10,000 for critical issues.
👤 Founder information is available on LinkedIn.
Remitano Security Overview | Details |
Proof of Reserves (PoR) | No |
Insurance | No coverage |
KYC Verification | KYC is mandatory |
Security Audits | No |
Account Security | 2FA, MBA (Fingerprint scanning & FaceID), Anti-Phishing Code, Saved Addresses, Device Management |
When reviewing crypto platforms, we look closely at their ratings from trusted security sites like Cer.Live and CertiK. These independent sources check things like traffic, liquidity, and cybersecurity.
During testing, I found that Remitano has very little presence on these platforms. Only Cer.Live reviewed it, giving the exchange a low score (DDD) because of unknown daily traffic and no Proof of Reserves.
Cyber Security Measures: Remitano’s desktop and mobile apps include 2FA, Saved Addresses, and an Anti-Phishing Code. Users can also check account activity, manage connected devices, and lock their account if a device is lost or stolen. The mobile app also supports biometric login.
Bug Bounty Program: Remitano runs a bug bounty program through HackerOne, a global platform for finding security issues. Rewards for identifying critical bugs range between $2,500 and $10,000, which is higher than what many top exchanges offer.
Corporate Communication Structure and Transparency: The official website does not provide information about Remitano’s key members. However, the company’s founder, Dang H.A, can be found on LinkedIn and in other business resources. The exchange also maintains high activity on social media, including X, LinkedIn, and Telegram.
Non-verified users can access some features on Remitano but only for limited use. To unlock full access, users must complete a mandatory KYC process with five levels. Each level has different requirements and offers more features. The first level only needs phone verification, but it comes with strict deposit limits.
KYC Level | Documents | Available features |
Level 1 (non-KYC) | Phone number |
Buy $75 Deposit $50 Withdraw $10,000 |
Levels 2 & 3 | A government-issued ID, Facial verification |
Buy $100,000 Deposit $25,000 Withdraw $50,000 |
Level 4 | Individual certification for longtime traders |
Buy $500,000 Deposit $60,000 Withdraw $1M |
Level 5 | The account was created over 6 months ago and has a total trading volume of over $200,000 |
Buy $10M Deposit $1.5M Withdraw $3M |
While testing, I reached level three easily and gained full access. The whole process took less than one hour.
Our research shows that Remitano is weak in terms of security. It does not offer Proof of Reserves or insurance to protect user assets. The exchange was also recently hacked and did not compensate affected users.
On the positive side, the platform uses standard security tools to help users protect their accounts. It also runs an active bug bounty program with high rewards and stays active on major social platforms. Traders who store assets in external wallets may still find some useful features on Remitano.
Remitano’s trading platform is beginner-friendly but lacks advanced tools for experienced traders.
🖥️ Available on desktop and mobile, with a simple, unified interface (no Pro/Basic versions).
⚡ Smooth performance during testing, with instant swaps in the Chrome browser.
🔧No advanced order types, margin, futures, or trading bots.

Remitano features a Liquidity Pool that allows users to earn passive income by staking fiat and crypto in pairs with USDT. The APR varies based on several factors and may change over time. During testing, I found around 35 pairs offering rewards of up to 15%.
The platform offers a decentralized Lending & Borrowing service. Users can supply or borrow USDT, ETH, USDC, or BTC from the pool. Lenders can earn additional profit on idle assets, while borrowers access extra funds by using other assets as collateral. During testing, the APY ranged from 0.01% to 5%.
For our trading test, we thoroughly evaluated the Remitano platform. Our process included signing up, completing the KYC (Know Your Customer) verification, logging in, depositing funds, and making withdrawals. We also tested the trading functionalities by exploring different trading pairs and conversions and assessed the associated fees for transfers and withdrawals. This comprehensive test allows us to provide an informed and reliable review of the exchange’s usability, features, and actual costs. Here’s our detailed analysis:
Creating a Remitano account is easy, and you only need an email address. The platform also supports sign-up via Google, Facebook, and Apple, making the process even more convenient.
After signing up, I had limited account access until I completed Level 3 verification, which involved providing personal details, uploading a government-issued ID, and completing facial verification via my laptop camera.
Fiat deposits were available through the P2P trading service. Since I had LTC on another platform, I used a crypto deposit. Remitano generated a deposit address and QR code to reduce the risk of typos. The funds arrived in my account about five minutes after the transaction was confirmed.
To speed up the process, I chose the market price option. The transaction was executed instantly, and all details were displayed below the trading interface. Although the service didn’t show the exact fee, I calculated a 0.25% fee, which matches the platform’s official rate.
I tested a USDT withdrawal to my CoinW account. I could paste the address manually or choose one from my address book. The platform only asked me to confirm the address in a pop-up window, 2FA was not required.
The withdrawal fee for USDT via TRON was 2 USDT, which is twice as high as the 1 USDT fee charged by BitMart and Bitunix. However, the process was smooth, and the funds arrived in my CoinW wallet within one minute.
In this review, I tested the desktop version of Remitano using the Chrome browser. As a casual trader, I found the minimalistic interface easy to use. However, the platform lacks tools for experienced traders, such as advanced order types, an order book, or derivatives trading. Instead, it focuses on simple asset swaps, making it more suitable for beginners in crypto.

Buy/Sell Crypto (P2P): Remitano allows users to create ads to buy or sell crypto and choose from the fiat payment methods available in their region. The platform supports over 80 fiat currencies.
During testing, I found sellers accepting various options, including gift cards, ZARP Wallet, and local Asian banks such as Ambank and Vietcombank.
These diverse payment methods applied to only a few fiat currencies, most others had no active listings at all.
Coin Swap: Remitano offers a quick and easy tool for swapping any supported coin on the platform. It works similarly to decentralized exchanges like Uniswap or SushiSwap and has a comparable interface. For easier price analysis, the tool is integrated with TradingView, which can be turned on or off with a simple toggle button.
Search Functionality: Although the selection of cryptocurrencies available via Remitano Swap is significantly smaller than on major exchanges like KuCoin or Binance, the platform includes a search field for both fiat and crypto, making the process more convenient for traders.
Wallet Protection Measures: Remitano minimizes the risk of sending funds to non-existent wallet addresses by flagging typos. Additionally, the app is equipped with a QR scanning feature to simplify transactions.
Based on our tests, Remitano is a great option for casual traders looking for a simple way to swap popular cryptocurrencies. The trading process was easy and efficient.
The Remitano mobile app is available for both Android and iOS. It offers the same functionality as the desktop version, with only minor differences. The interface is light and user-friendly, making it a great option for beginners.
During testing, I found that the Remitano Mobile App offers the same security features as the desktop version. I was able to set up 2FA via Authy, an Anti-Phishing Code, and Saved Addresses. The app also supports unlocking via Touch ID or Face ID and includes a QR scanning feature for withdrawals.
Remitano Mobile offers the same tools and features as the desktop version, with an equally clean and user-friendly interface, making it a great choice for beginners. During my tests, the app performed flawlessly, with all pages loading quickly.
Remitano’s fee structure is simple but not the most competitive, especially for P2P and fiat transactions.
💱 Crypto Swap fee: 0.25% Maker/Taker.
🤝 P2P fee: 1% Maker / 0% Taker.
💸 Free fiat-to-crypto for NGN and ZAR (bank fees may apply).
🪙 Crypto deposits are free for all supported assets.
In our reviews, we typically evaluate Spot trading fees and compare them across the market using our proprietary ranking system. Remitano follows a different pricing model, applying distinct fees to its two core services:
Remitano’s 0.25% fee for crypto swaps is slightly higher than what many other platforms charge for crypto-to-crypto transactions. For comparison:
This makes Remitano less appealing to users who prioritize low-fee crypto swaps.
Remitano imposes a 1% maker fee on P2P trades, which is higher than fees charged by centralized exchanges like BitMart or DigiFinex. However, the 0% fee for takers gives Remitano a potential edge for buyers.
For example, buying $1,000 worth of USDT as a maker would yield:
While Remitano’s P2P fees may discourage frequent market makers, its zero-fee structure for takers can be a cost-saving benefit for buyers.
Fiat deposits on Remitano are free for NGN and ZAR, regardless of the payment method used. Transactions in other currencies are processed via various gift cards and payment services like PayPal, Perfect Money, Revolut, etc. The platform also does not charge fees for crypto deposits.
Available through P2P trading. Takers pay no fees, while Makers are charged a 1% fee, regardless of the payment method. Bank transfers are free for NGN and ZAR. Other methods (e.g. PayPal, Perfect Money, Skrill) may include additional fees set by the providers.
A small network fee applies, depending on the currency. For example, when I withdrew LTC to my personal wallet, I paid 0.001 LTC (about $0.10), five times lower than ProBit’s fee of 0.005 LTC (about $0.50).

Remitano doesn’t offer regular discounts, but it occasionally launches limited-time promotions for new users, RENEC token holders, specific coins, and other special campaigns.
While testing Remitano, I confirmed that the fees charged matched those listed on the exchange’s official fee page, showing transparency and no hidden costs.
Remitano’s crypto swap fees are below the industry average, but P2P trading fees for makers are relatively high. In summary, Remitano’s fees are competitively priced, making it a suitable option for casual traders.
Please note that fees may vary, so it’s always best to check the official website for the most up-to-date information.
Remitano has an easy-to-use Swap service for exchanging crypto within the app. However, it’s limited in asset variety and fiat options.
🔄 Offers 37 cryptocurrencies and 7 fiat currencies for swapping.
💱 Assets can be traded against BNB, ETH, RENEC, BTC, and USDT.
🔢 Around 220 trading pairs, which is below the industry average.
🌐 Includes major coins like ADA, LINK, and BNB.
💵 USD and EUR are supported via P2P, but the ads are not always available.

Remitano’s P2P trading service supports the purchase of seven cryptocurrencies:
Users can buy crypto using 80 fiat currencies via local banks or payment services like Skrill, Payoneer, PayPal, Wise, and even gift cards.
However, during testing, ads were only available for BTC, ETH, USDT, and BCH. It was not possible to buy LTC, XRP, or BNB, even with major currencies like USD or EUR.
Remitano supports direct fiat withdrawals via bank transfer and does not charge any fees. It is only possible to withdraw NGN and ZAR fiat currencies:
The P2P trading service supports over 80 fiat currencies, offering more options to cash out crypto. Withdrawals can be made through local banks, gift cards, or payment services like Skrill, Payoneer, and PayPal. Transactions are free for takers, while makers pay a 1% fee.
Direct crypto withdrawals are accessible on the “Wallet” tab. The platform charges a small fee that varies by asset and network. For example, withdrawing USDT on TRON costs 2 USDT, while the TON network charges only 0.9 USDT.
The minimum withdrawal amount varies by asset and blockchain network. For Litecoin, it is 0.0001 LTC on the Litecoin Network and 0.018 LTC on the BEP20 network. The minimum withdrawal amount on Ethereum is 0.001 ETH, which is the same across all supported networks.
Maximum withdrawal amounts depend on your verification level. These values may change, so it is best to check the official website.

To assess customer service, we created a unique test using real support channels and common user issues. We focus on response time, clarity, and whether help is provided by a real person, not a bot.
While testing Remitano’s Live Chat, I reported an error while trying to buy crypto with USD via Simplex that the platform later removed from the list of available payment options. The agent replied within 15 minutes but gave incorrect information, claiming USD wasn’t supported despite it being listed on the platform. Their replies also had grammar mistakes, making them hard to understand.
I also asked if customer assets were stored in segregated accounts for extra security. The agent didn’t understand the question, even after I rephrased it several times. While fast, the support experience was confusing and unhelpful overall.
I later contacted support via email, hoping for a clearer response to the same question. Although the agent replied within a few hours, the response was still unclear.
