The mexican unemployment rate fell to 2.2% in March 2025, compared to 2.3% in March 2024 and below market expectations of 2.4%. It was the lowest rate recorded in the current historical series, starting from 1994. The unemployed population decreased by 0.039 million to 1.4 million, meanwhile the number of employed persons declined by 0.088 million to 59.7 million people. The economically active population dropped by 0.128 million to 61.1 million, while the non-economic active population rose by 1.3 million to 41.9 million people. Seasonally adjusted, the jobless rate fell to 2.6% in March from 2.7% in the prior month.
