21 y/o Habbo To Enable Gas-Free Trading and Minting With Immutable X

One of the most recognizable online communities, Habbo’s owner and operator company Silake has announced that they will be boosting the NFT experience for its over 500,000 users using Immutable X.

In a press release, the 21-year-old community declared its decision to provide its hundreds of thousands of users with the opportunity of gas-free trading and minting of its NFTs.

Habbo first released their NFTs earlier in 2021 but has since blown up. In their initial launch, Habbo dropped 10,000 randomly generated avatars that sold out within the first 26 hours. This was followed by the release of another 1000 NFT avatars.

At the moment the floor price for each of these avatars on Opensea is about 0.284 ETH which is approximately $888, with the highest NFT selling for 506 ETH ($1,584,827).

Since its launch last year, approximately 6.8k ETH worth of volume has been traded cumulatively through these NFTs which comes up to $21.28 million.

Not only can these NFT avatars be traded, but they can also be used in-game, in fact, NFT furni owners of the avatars are also airdropped by Habbo.

Immutable X being a layer 2 scaling solution will make Habbo capable of conducting over 9,000 transactions per second in addition to the gas-free minting and trading operations as well as security for its users.

Commenting on the partnership Habbo NFT’s Game Lead Designer, Muumiopappa stated:

“Immutable X is a great solution for our community members because not only is it user-friendly and well-equipped with the TokenTrove integration, but as a  Layer 2 solution, Immutable allows  our users to trade NFTs without having to pay exorbitant transaction fees”

Focus on Carbon Neutrality

One of the biggest highlights of this joint venture is both Habbo and Immutable X’s commitment to the environment.

Both share commitments towards offsetting any crypto carbon footprints in their own ways. Immutable X partnered with Trace and Cool Effect to ensure that every Habbo NFT is 100% carbon neutral. 

And Habbo in itself is known for its carbon-neutral framework as well as Sulake’s practice of being accountable for carbon emissions.
