The American Rapper and fashion designer explicitly stated his standing on his fans demand for NFTs in a post on Instagram.

“Do Not Ask Me To Do a F***ing NFT”, Says Kanye West

While most of the famous faces are jumping in on the opportunity to bank on the rising crypto and NFTs trend, Kanye West decided to not indulge in it. Although he isn’t alone in this, his adamance was certainly supported by a lot of his fans who shared similar opinions about NFTs.

Not a YEs, It’s a NO

Not too long ago, Kanye West released his album Donda which received a lot of support from his fans. Since then the new breed of fans who have been heavily invested in NFTs began demanding Ye to launch his own set of NFTs as well.

Finally, after 6 months, the rapper posted on his Instagram:

“STOP ASKING ME TO DO NFT’s I’M NOT FINNA CO-SIGN … FOR NOW I’M NOT ON THAT WAVE I MAKE MUSIC AND PRODUCTS IN THE REAL WORLD (sic)”

Along with his statement accompanied a picture that said that his focus was on building real products in the real world like food, clothes, shelter, and music and not on NFTs.

Although with his awaited upcoming album Donda 2, this could’ve been a bankable opportunity for the rapper.

However, he is not the first celebrity to bow out. Recently during an interview, actor Keanu Reeves also expressed his opinion about the non-fungible tokens. He said that he doesn’t understand the NFT hype since he believes they can be easily reproduced.

But Some Might Beg To Differ

The likes of Eminem, Lindsay Lohan, Neymar Jr., DJ Khaled, etc. recently dived into the space by either launching their own NFTs or by owning one. In fact, less than 2 days ago, Justin Bieber too purchased a $1.29 million worth of Bored Ape NFT.

And apart from these celebrities, the general public too has been exceedingly bullish towards NFTs recently with sales standing just $50 million shy of touching $5 billion, the highest they’ve ever been. All thanks to the NFT crazed 1.1 million investors who ended up buying almost 2.5 million NFTs just in January.
