The Euro has gone back and forth during the course of the week as we continue to hang around the 1.1350 level. This is an area that I think continues to be a little bit of a magnet for price but quite frankly we are just simply trying to figure out our next trading range.

In this article:

The Euro has gone back and forth during the course of the trading week as we continue to see a lot of indecision, which is probably something you would expect due to the fact that there are a lot of issues that are far outside of the scope of currency markets right now pushing things around. After all, we have seen a lot of concerns around the Russia/Ukraine border, and that of course is on the steps of Europe. In other words, it makes quite a bit of sense that you would not want to throw a lot of money at European markets if there is any real concern of a shooting war.

However, we have since seen the Russians and Americans discuss actually speaking for once, and that of course might calm things down. Previously, we had seen the market reached towards the 1.15 level only to pull back, and also had reached towards the 1.12 level to find buyers. I suspect this will be your trading range for a while, because quite frankly we just do not know what to do with ourselves. As long as that is going to be the case, this is range bound trading and difficult for longer-term traders to get involved with. I do think that eventually will get a breakout, but it is not to be anytime soon simply because we are also worried about inflation and interest rate differential favoring the United States.
