Finland’s unemployment rate increased to 9.3% in July 2025 from 7.9% in the same month of the previous year. The number of unemployed persons climbed by 40 thousand from a year earlier to 269 thousand, while the number of employed persons decreased by 43 thousand to 2.637 million. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate for people aged 15 to 24 increased to 16.8%, which was 5.3 percentage points higher than a year ago. The activity rate for persons aged 15 to 74 edged down to 69.8% from 70.1% a year ago, while the employment rate for persons aged 20 to 64 declined to 76.5% from 77.4%.
