Finland’s unemployment rate rose to 9.6% in October 2025 from 8.1% in the same month of the previous year, pointing to the highest level since June. The number of unemployed persons climbed by 48 thousand from a year earlier to 276 thousand, while the number of employed persons increased by 25 thousand to 2.611 million. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate for people aged 15 to 24 jumped to a five-month high of 22.5%, which was also 6.3 percentage points higher than a year ago. The activity rate for persons aged 15 to 74 went up to 69.2% from 67.7% a year ago, while the employment rate for persons aged 20 to 64 increased to 76.3% from 76.1%.
