Switzerland’s non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate edged up to 2.9% in October 2025 from 2.8% in each of the previous two months, marking the highest level since March. The number of unemployed persons rose by 2.0 thousand from a month earlier to 135.2 thousand. Meanwhile, the youth unemployment rate, measuring job-seekers between 15 and 24 years old, inched down to 3.1% from 3.2%, with the number of young unemployed falling by 0.4 thousand to 13.5 thousand. At the same time, the number of reported job vacancies declined by 2.4 thousand to 35.0 thousand. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the jobless rate held steady at 3.0%.
