Switzerland’s non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was steady at 2.8% in September 2025, remaining at its highest level since April. The number of unemployed persons increased by 1.1 thousand from a month earlier to 133.2 thousand. The youth unemployment rate, measuring job-seekers between 15 and 24 years old, remained at 3.2%, its highest level since March 2021, with the number of young unemployed rising by only 0.2 thousand to 13.9 thousand. Meanwhile, the number of reported job vacancies dropped by 0.5 thousand to 37.4 thousand. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the unemployment rate ticked up to 3.0% in September from 2.9% in the previous month.
