The Swiss unemployment rate remained stable at a non-seasonally adjusted 2.8% in May 2025, unchanged from the previous month, remaining at the lowest level in four months, matching market estimates. The number of unemployed persons declined by 2.2 thousand to a six-month low of 127.9 thousand. Meanwhile, the youth unemployment rate, measuring job-seekers between 15 and 24 years old, edged down to 2.4% from 2.5% in April, as the number of young unemployed fell by 0.5 thousand to a ten-month low of 10.6 thousand. However, the number of reported job vacancies declined by 2.7 thousand to a five-month low of 38.1 thousand positions during the period. Adjusted for seasonal factors, the jobless rate inched up to 2.9% in May from 2.8% in the prior month.
