The cryptocurrency market has been gaining adoption in recent months, and more corporate entities will enter the market in the coming months and years.

AMC Theaters Launches Its Cryptocurrency Payment Features

AMC Theaters, the largest operator of movie theaters in the United States, announced yesterday that it is now accepting a wide range of cryptocurrencies for electronic gift card purchases. This is in anticipation of accepting the cryptocurrencies as payment options in its theaters.

The CEO of the American cinema giant AMC Theatres Adam Aron, revealed this latest information in a blog post yesterday.

He stated that their customers can now purchase digital gift cards using cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) directly via the company’s website, mobile app and in their theaters.

AMC Theaters partnered with major crypto payment processor BitPay to provide this service to its customers. The customers can buy e-cards of up to $200 using Bitcoin and other approved cryptocurrencies.

Dogecoin is one of the exciting cryptocurrencies due to the endorsement by the likes of Elon Musk. The CEO paid special attention to DOGE after an earlier poll indicated that most of his followers want AMC to accept the cryptocurrency. Aron stated that DOGE is one of the cryptocurrencies accepted for the digital gift cards and hinted that the coin might be amongst those to be accepted as payment options across their 593 theaters in the United States.

AMC Will Accept Cryptos In Its Theaters By End Of The Year

AMC had revealed earlier this year that it would start accepting a few cryptocurrencies as payment options across its 593 theaters in the United States. Some of the coins it intends to start accepting include Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Litecoin (LTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH). The company is currently considering adding Dogecoin (DOGE) to the list.

DOGE is currently up by more than 4% over the past 24 hours as the broader cryptocurrency market continues to recover. Bitcoin has finally crossed the $50k mark and could rally higher towards the $55k resistance level in the coming hours.
