The number of unemployed individuals declined by 4,000 month-on-month to 138,200. By gender, male unemployment fell to 4.9% in August from 5.0% in July, while female unemployment declined to 4.5% from 4.7%. By age, the unemployment rate for people aged 15-24 years fell to 11.9% from 12.1% in July, while the rate for those aged 25-74 years declined to 3.6% from 3.8%.
