Ireland’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate edged down to 4.1% in April 2025 from an upwardly revised 4.4% in the previous month. The number of unemployed people decreased by 8,400 month-on-month to 119,500 in April, with female unemployment falling to 57,900 and male unemployment dropping to 61,500, from 62,800 and 65,000 respectively. On an annual basis, the unemployment rate ticked lower to 4.1% from 4.4% in April 2024. Meanwhile, among individuals aged 25-74 years, the jobless rate dropped to 3% in April from 3.5% in the preceding month.
