The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Luxembourg edged up to 6% in May 2025, after holding steady at 5.9% for the past seven months. This marked the highest rate since May 2021, as the number of unemployed persons increased by 130 to 18,995. Meanwhile, the number of employed persons rose by 226 to 522,174, and the number of Luxembourg citizens active in the labor force grew by 248 to 317,378. At the same time, outgoing resident employees grew to 14,050 and incoming cross-border workers went up to 230,781 from 230,685.
