Romania's GDP expanded by 0.3% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2025, matching the preliminary estimates and the previous three-month period. Growth was supported across all sub-sectors, including gross fixed capital formation (2.0%), government spending (1.6%), and in household consumption (0.8%). Net external demand also weighed on growth, as imports grew 5.6%, outpacing the 2.8% gain in exports. On a seasonally adjusted quarterly basis, the economy grew by 1.2% from 0.1% in the previous period, marking the strongest growth since Q4 2022.
