The unemployment rate in the Euro Area held steady at a record low of 6.2% in June 2025, unchanged from May’s revised figure and just below market forecasts of 6.3%. The number of unemployed individuals decreased by 62 thousand from the prior month to 10.700 million. Meanwhile, the youth unemployment rate, reflecting those under 25 seeking employment, fell to its lowest since April 2023 at 14.1%, from a downwardly revised 14.3% in May. Among the bloc’s largest economies, Germany (3.7%) and the Netherlands (3.8%) reported the lowest unemployment rates, while Spain (10.4%), France (7%), and Italy (6.3%) continued to post higher levels. A year ago, the jobless rate was higher at 6.4%. In the broader European Union, the jobless rate stood at 5.9%.
