In South Korea, industrial production measures the output of businesses integrated in industrial sector of the economy such as manufacturing, mining, and utilities.
Latest Updates
South Korea’s industrial production dropped 1.2% month-over-month in September 2025, reversing a downwardly revised 2.2% rise in August and missing expectations for a modest 0.1% increase. The decline reflected pressure from shifting global trade policies that weighed on major export sectors, including semiconductors, automobiles, and electronic components. Year-on-year, however, output jumped 11.6% in September, up sharply from a 0.7% rise in August and well above market estimates of 5.9%.
