Turkey Unemployment Rate

Turkey's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 7.9% in March 2025, down from 8.2% in February and below the 8.6% recorded a year earlier. This marked the lowest jobless rate since the data series began in 2005, as the number of unemployed individuals declined by 65,000 to 2.807 million, the lowest since June 2024. Meanwhile, employment rose by 391,000 to 32.597 million, pushing the employment rate to a three-month high of 49.2% from 48.6% in the previous month. The employment rate for men was 66.9%, while for women it stood at 31.9%. Additionally, the labor force participation rate increased to 53.4% from 53.0%. On the other hand, the youth unemployment rate edged up to a three-month high of 15.1% from 15.0%.
