In Denmark, the consumer confidence indicator analyzes the consumer climate through questions about the economic situation as perceived by consumers at a given time concerning both the general economic situation in Denmark and the financial situation of the family. At present an omnibus survey consists of a sample of about 1,500 persons, drawn from a population of persons aged 16-74 years residing in Denmark.
Latest Updates
The consumer confidence index in Denmark fell to -15.7 in July 2025 from a four-month high of -15.1 in the previous month. The decline was mainly driven by deteriorating sentiment toward households’ financial situations (-5.8 vs -4.7 in June) and the country’s economic situation over the next twelve months (-23.5 vs -22.8). At the same time, consumers remain reluctant to purchase major consumer goods at the moment (-16 vs -14.2). Meanwhile, assessments of families' financial situations compared to a year ago became less pessimistic (-11.1 vs -11.9), along with views on the economic situation last year (-21.9 vs -22.1). Regarding aspects not factored into the confidence indicator, expectations for unemployment trends continued to increase over the next twelve months (11 vs 12.9), while price development in the coming year slightly moderated (36.1 vs 36.7).
