In Denmark, the consumer confidence indicator analyzes the consumer climate through questions about the economic situation as perceived by consumers at a given time concerning both the general economic situation in Denmark and the financial situation of the family. At present an omnibus survey consists of a sample of about 1,500 persons, drawn from a population of persons aged 16-74 years residing in Denmark.

The consumer confidence index in Denmark dropped to -18.4 in May 2025 from -17 in the previous month. This marked the lowest reading since March 2023, as assessments of families' financial situations compared to a year ago became more pessimistic (-12.7 vs -10.1 in April), along with views on the economic situation in the coming year (-32 vs -23). At the same time, consumers remain reluctant to purchase major consumer goods at the moment (-13.4 vs -13.6). Regarding aspects not factored into the confidence indicator, expectations for unemployment trends continued to increase over the next twelve months (19.1 vs 16), as well as price development in the coming year (40.8 vs 40.5).
