I began reviewing forex brokers in 2021, after a decade in the trading industry in Chicago, where I was a professional trader at the CME and a licensed futures broker. For this review, I tested Standard and Raw accounts using the MT5 platform in July 2026. I used demo accounts with the FP Trading Ltd entity based in Saint Lucia. Some features and services may vary depending on where you reside. Here is a summary of my FP Trading review:
🟢 Best Fit For: Active traders looking for low trading costs, flexible leverage, advanced platforms, and a broad range of 1,000+ CFDs across six asset classes. Execution speeds as fast as 49 ms, AI-powered performance insights, and support for automated trading make it well-suited to day traders, scalpers, and algo trading.
🔴 Less Ideal For: Beginners, due to the lack of educational materials and the relatively advanced platform selection. The broker also lacks a proprietary web platform, so new traders may face a steeper learning curve than with more beginner-focused competitors. Traders who demand top-tier regulation, as all active entities are offshore. The $1M Lloyd’s insurance and Financial Commission membership offset, but does not replace, Tier-1 regulatory oversight.

FP Trading was founded in 2025. The company is registered with the St. Vincent & the Grenadines FSA, and holds licenses with the Saint Lucia FSRA, the South Africa FSCA, and the Mauritius FSC. The broker offers 1,000+ CFDs via MT4, MT5, and cTrader. There are two account types to choose from: Standard and Raw.

In my view, the most appealing features of FP Trading are the substantially better-than-average trading costs and the advantages of working with an offshore broker, such as high leverage, combined with account protections like Lloyd’s of London insurance up to $1M and access to dispute resolution via the Financial Commission.

FP Trading has three offshore entities and one South African entity that is not currently active, resulting in relatively limited regulatory oversight. But its regulatory standing has been improved with a UAE-based entity now licensed by the UAE CMA. Additionally, client accounts are insured up to $1M by Lloyd’s of London, and the broker is a member of the Financial Commission, giving clients recourse in the event of a dispute. This is noteworthy and adds an important layer of security absent at most offshore brokers. FP Trading states that it keeps client funds segregated and provides negative balance protection. I found the broker to be transparent in key areas like regulation and fees, but I couldn’t confirm negative balance protection in the broker’s client agreement.

I learned that FP Trading was founded in 2025, making it a relatively new broker with a brief operating history. The LinkedIn company page states that it has 51-200 employees, reflecting a medium-sized operation.
I went through the client agreement and found the information about segregated funds, but nothing was said about negative balance protection of client accounts. I couldn’t find any mention of this protection measure on FP Trading’s website either, but I contacted the broker’s customer support, and they assured me that negative balance protection is provided. This discrepancy raised concern about FP Trading’s transparency.
I also noticed that FP Trading does not disclose a retail investor loss rate. However, as an offshore broker, it is not subject to FCA or ESMA mandates requiring this disclosure.
As an offshore broker, FP Trading has very little regulatory oversight, making it relatively unsafe. But clients may be reassured by the $1M insurance policy from Lloyd’s of London and access to dispute resolution via the Financial Commission. I should point out that FP Trading goes above and beyond here, as most offshore brokers do not provide these protections. However, my research revealed transparency issues at FP Trading regarding the negative balance protection and risk notice.
FP Trading boasts very competitive fees, which I confirmed by testing both Standard and Raw accounts. Costs were substantially better than average in most instruments via the Standard account, and the Raw account was also strong but less consistently above the norm, with $6 commission, which is very close to our industry benchmark of $5.99. Swap fees also came in close to industry averages. I discovered that other account-related fees are minimal: there are no inactivity fees or fees for deposits and withdrawals.
I tested Standard and Raw account spreads on MT5 during the London open and just after the New York open on 28 July 2026. At these times, the market is typically highly liquid with the tightest spreads.

My live testing showed that the Standard account offers competitive spreads that generally beat the industry averages, especially strong for oil, indices, stocks, and Bitcoin. The Raw account was strongest in crude oil, shares, the Dow 30, and Bitcoin. Surprisingly, the Germany 40 had a much wider spread than in the Standard account.
With the Raw account, the broker charges commissions in addition to the spread for forex and metals only.
| Assets | Raw account Commission | Industry Average |
| Forex, metals | $6 per lot round trip | $5.99 |
As the table shows, the commissions are close to the industry average.
In the table below, you can see the Swap Long (the cost/credit of holding a buy position overnight) for one full-sized contract. I recorded the data on 28 July 2026.
| Instrument | Swap Long | Industry Average |
| EUR/USD | Charge of $9.71 | Charge of $7.64 |
| GBP/JPY | Credit of $12.34 | Credit of $7.74 |
| Gold | Charge of $71.50 | Charge of $65.65 |
My tests showed that FP Trading’s swap fees slightly exceed the industry averages.
FP Trading does not charge any inactivity or account maintenance fees.
To help you understand how much you’ll pay to trade each instrument, I calculated the cost of trade using the formula: spread rate x pip value + commission rate (swaps are not included).
| Instrument | Standard Account | Industry Average* | Raw Account | Industry Average* |
| EUR/USD | $12.50 | $11.54 | $7 | $6.99 |

Looking at total trading costs via the Standard account, FP Trading did better than average in every asset tested, except for EUR/USD. I was impressed by the prices on WTI crude oil and Bitcoin: oil trading costs were 64% lower than our benchmark, and Bitcoin costs were 69% better.
Via the Raw account, the broker was strong in WTI crude oil, shares, and Bitcoin. EUR/USD and gold performed close to average, and there was room for improvement in the Germany 40.
FP Trading has a solid platform lineup of MetaTrader 4 (MT4), MetaTrader 5 (MT5), and cTrader. I found the MT5 web platform the most intuitive and suitable for beginners to start out with. Both cTrader and MetaTrader support algo trading, and short-term traders like scalpers benefit from fast execution speeds. FP Trading lacks a proprietary trading platform and mobile app, but offers its own copy trading platform that integrates with MT4/MT5.
| Platform/Tool | Suitable For |
| MetaTrader 4 (web, desktop, mobile) | Advanced chart analysis with 30 indicators/9 time frames, 1-click trading, automated trading with expert advisors (EAs), customizable layout, multi-asset trading, experienced traders |
| MetaTrader 5 (web, desktop, mobile) | Advanced chart analysis with 38 indicators/21 time frames, 1-click trading, automated trading with expert advisors (EAs), depth-of-market (DOM) trading, customizable layout, multi-asset trading, experienced traders |
| cTrader (web, desktop, mobile) | Advanced chart analysis with 70 indicators/26 time frames, 1-click trading, depth-of-market (DOM), automated trading with cBots, detachable charts, experienced traders |
For this review, I tested FP Trading via the desktop version of MetaTrader 5. It is a popular platform that provides the features most traders look for, without unnecessary frills. Even if it looks a bit outdated, I found MT5 reliable and efficient with fast order fills and no issues with platform freezes or crashes. MT5 offers watchlists that allow you to easily monitor your favorite instruments and alerts to notify you when prices hit specific levels. One-click trading and trading from the chart help you stay nimble and get in and out of the market fast. You can automate strategies using Expert Advisors (EAs), but API access is not currently supported.
MetaTrader 5 has sophisticated charting with 38 technical indicators and more than 40 drawing tools. 21 timeframes vary from 1 minute to 1 month, accommodating both short-term and longer-term traders. Chart layouts can be customized to your preference. Charts can also be detached and used on a second monitor.
MetaTrader 5 supports the full range of order types, including market, limit, stop-loss, and trailing stop-loss orders. You can set time-in-force conditions for pending orders, so they expire if not filled within a preset timeframe. The range of options gives traders flexibility and helps to accommodate scalping, day trading, swing trading, and automated trading. Depth of Market (DoM) is also supported, showing the number of orders at each price level.
I also tested the web version of MT5. It offers a polished, browser-based trading experience that feels similar to TradingView. MT5 web combines an intuitive layout with smooth navigation. Its charting package is solid for a web-based platform, with 30 indicators, 24 drawing tools, 9 timeframes, and support for candlestick, line, and bar charts. One-click trading is available for speedy order entry. MT5 web supports all major order types, including market, limit, and stop loss orders. A feature I especially like is that you can add economic events to the chart itself, so you are never taken by surprise by a major release.
I tested the FP Trading MT5 mobile app (build 5830) on my iPhone 15 Pro Max (iOS version 26.5.2). The app is user-friendly, with an uncluttered interface. I found it easy to manage watchlists, analyze charts, and place trades from my smartphone. I also liked having access to an economic calendar that helps you stay on top of major economic events while on the move.
Charting is comprehensive for an app, with candlestick, line, and bar charts, 36 indicators and drawing tools, and 9 timeframes from 1 minute to 1 month. One-click trading and trading from the chart are available for fast order entry. When it comes to orders, you can access market, limit, and stop loss orders.
I found it easy to place trades, analyze charts, and browse watchlists from the MT5 app. But keep in mind that there is no cross-device synchronization, so your MT5 desktop settings, like chart and watchlist configurations, are not automatically synced with the app.
A VPS (Virtual Private Server) is a remote computer that runs 24/7 in a professional data center. Forex and CFD traders use it to keep their platform running continuously even when their computer is off or loses connection to the internet. Another benefit is reduced latency, which enables your orders to reach your broker’s server faster.
FP Trading provides free VPS hosting when you make a minimum deposit of $1,000 USD. There is also a monthly volume requirement of 5 lots on a Standard account and 10 lots on a Raw account.
Orders are executed on third-party execution venues, with the broker acting as the agent on the client’s behalf rather than the counterparty. Execution is carried out in accordance with the broker’s Best Interest and Order Execution Policy. Market orders are executed at the best available market price.
| Instrument | Recorded Speed | Industry Average |
| EUR/USD | 60 ms | 148 ms |
| GBP/JPY | 61 ms | 220 ms |
| Gold | 51 ms | 242 ms |
| Crude Oil | 49 ms | 201 ms |
| Dow Jones 30 | 53 ms | 209 ms |
| Germany 40 (DAX) | 64 ms | 277 ms |
I tested execution speeds during the London open, using the MT5 journal. Speeds were consistently better than average in every asset I tested, indicating fast, reliable order fills.
FP Trading shines in the area of tradable instruments, beating our industry benchmarks in most asset classes. The variety covers all the bases, including assets like ETFs, soft commodities, and futures, which are not always present at competing brokers. The offering is clearly better than the industry average.
| Instrument | Number | Type | Industry Average |
| Forex Pairs | 71 | Major, minor, exotic | 30 – 60 |
| Commodities | 28 | Metals, energies, softs | 5 – 10 |
| Indices | 18 | US, European, Asian, Australian stock indices | 5 – 10 |
| Stocks | 810 | US, EU, UK, Hong Kong, Australian | 100 – 500 |
| ETFs | 58 | US, including 12 crypto ETFs | 50 – 70 |
| Cryptocurrencies | 12 | Major pairs and altcoins | 10 – 20 |
To better illustrate the range of instruments available at FP Trading, I compiled samples from various asset classes:
| Forex Major | Forex Minor |
| EUR/USD | GBP/USD | USD/CHF | USD/JPY | GBP/NZD | CAD/CHF | EUR/GBP | AUD/JPY |
| Forex Exotic | Indices |
| EUR/NOK | GBP/TRY | USD/DKK | EUR/PLN | CAC 40 | Australia 200 | Hong Kong 50 | US 30 |
| Energies | Metals |
| WTI Crude Oil | Natural Gas | Brent Crude Oil | Gold | Silver | Platinum | Palladium |
| Soft Commodities | Shares |
| Cocoa | Wheat | Coffee | Cotton | American Express | Trustpilot | Airbus | News Corp |
| ETFs | Cryptocurrencies |
| Vanguard Real Estate | SPDR Gold Shares | iShares MSCI Emerging Markets | WisdomTree Bitcoin Fund | Dogecoin | Chainlink | Solana | Polkadot |
The coverage of forex pairs, shares, commodities, and indices is comfortably above the industry average. I noted a strong range of Hong Kong shares (106) and a diverse range of crypto ETFs (12). Gold traders have plenty of instruments to work with, including XAU/USD, XAU/EUR, and XAU/AUD. This enables them to speculate on the yellow metal in multiple major currencies, rather than just the US dollar.
I had a very positive experience with support at FP Trading. The broker offers 24/7 customer service via live chat, email, and phone. I was able to instantly reach a human operator via live chat, which made for a smooth testing experience. Email and phone support were also frictionless, and agents were helpful and well-informed. With support in 23+ languages, agents are well-prepared to cater to the global client base. I rate FP Trading’s support as well above average.

I tested agents with simple questions like whether an Islamic account is available, to harder ones relating to regulation and fee structures. I couldn’t understand from the website whether Raw account commissions are charged on all assets. FP Trading’s support team clarified that commissions are charged only on forex and metals. Instant chat support is a luxury, and I also had same-day responses via email and a little wait time via phone.

FP Trading offers a solid range of payment methods, including bank wire, credit card, and crypto. The broker states that it does not charge any fees for deposits and withdrawals. Processing times are close to industry averages. FP Trading could improve by adding e-wallets like Neteller and Skrill to its payment options.
| Payment Method | Fees | Processing Time |
| Bank Wire | $0 | 1–5 business days |
| Credit Card | $0 | Instant to up to 30 minutes |
| Cryptocurrency | $0 | Up to 1 hour |
| Withdrawal Method | Fees | Processing Time* |
| Bank Wire | $0 | 1 working day |
| Credit Card | $0 | 1 working day |
| Cryptocurrency | $0 | Up to 1 working day |
*All timeframes listed exclude weekends.
The available deposit currencies vary depending on the payment method you choose and your region. There are no conversion fees charged by FP Trading.
I did not deposit or withdraw funds for this review. My assessment was based on the availability and range of payment methods, fee transparency, and payment times listed on the FP Trading website and supplied by chat support.
FP Trading offers a Standard account with all costs reflected in the spread, and a Raw account with ECN pricing and $6 round trip commissions. Both accounts require a $100 minimum deposit and provide access to MT4, MT5, and cTrader, with the broker’s full range of instruments. I confirmed that FP Trading offers demo accounts, enabling traders to test its platforms and trading conditions before risking real funds. Swap-free Islamic versions of both Standard and Raw accounts are also available. I rate the comprehensive range of accounts as better than average for the industry.
To open a live account, you must complete the following steps:
| Feature | Standard Account | Raw Account |

Demo versions are available for Standard and Raw accounts. You can choose between MT4, MT5, and cTrader, select your preferred base currency (USD, EUR, GBP, SGD, CHF, CAD, JPY, HKD, PLN, ZAR, BRL), and set your available leverage (up to 1:500).
I confirmed that FP Trading offers Sharia-compliant Standard and Raw trading accounts that eliminate overnight swap charges.
The maximum leverage is 1:500. This means that with $1,000, you can control up to $500,000 worth of positions in the market. This is a very high level of leverage. For comparison, in the UK and EU, retail traders are restricted to a maximum leverage of 1:30. I’d recommend keeping in mind that leverage can amplify both your profits and losses.
Below, I outlined how FP Trading’s leverage varies by asset class:
| Asset Class | Maximum Leverage |
| Forex | 1:500 |
| Commodities | 1:500 |
| Indices | 1:100 |
| Crypto | 1:50 |
| Shares | 1:20 |
FP Trading does not accept applications from residents of the following countries: the USA, Israel, New Zealand, Iran, Russia, Myanmar, and North Korea.
Research is a little below average due to a lack of in-house news and analysis. The bright spots are Trading Central and the FP Trading AI analytics tool. Third-party Trading Central is available to live account holders and provides a wide range of analysis, including trading signals. Traders can also stay updated with news feeds in MetaTrader and cTrader. Another highlight is FP Trading AI, a trade analytics tool designed to optimize your performance.
FP Trading AI is an AI-powered analytics tool built directly into the client portal. It provides traders with personalized performance reports without additional software. Analyzing your trading history and behavior, it provides insights into performance, risk management, and trading discipline.
You can identify harmful patterns like overtrading, emotional decision-making, and inconsistent position sizing. These insights are designed to help traders refine their strategies and make more informed decisions.
Trading Central provides a suite of research and trading tools designed to help traders identify opportunities in the markets. The offering includes technical analysis, market sentiment, an economic calendar, and featured trading ideas. The tool is built into the client portal and can support both short and long-term traders.
The news tab in MT5 provides a stream of market updates and economic headlines from sources like TD Securities, HSBC, and Société Générale. I found it a bit limited, though, because all you get is the headline.
FP Trading does not currently offer any educational materials.
FP Trading was founded in 2025 and offers more than 1,000 CFD instruments across forex, commodities, indices, shares, ETFs, crypto, and futures. Traders can select between MT4, MT5, and cTrader, with leverage of up to 1:500.
I found trading costs to be one of FP Trading’s strongest features. The Standard account outperformed industry averages in nearly every instrument I tested, with standout pricing in WTI crude oil and Bitcoin. The Raw account also delivered competitive pricing, especially for GBP/JPY, WTI crude oil, shares, and Bitcoin, with commissions in line with industry averages.
I was also impressed by the combination of fast execution, innovative research tools, and superb customer support. During my tests, execution speeds consistently beat industry averages, live chat connected me with an agent immediately, and traders have access to Trading Central, along with the FP Trading AI performance analytics tool.
The broker’s biggest limitation is its relatively weak regulatory profile. But while it holds offshore licenses and lacks Tier-1 regulation, client accounts benefit from segregated funds, negative balance protection, Lloyd’s of London insurance up to $1M, and access to dispute resolution through the Financial Commission. Educational materials are very limited, which is a notable drawback for beginners.
I rate FP Trading as best for active traders seeking low trading costs, fast execution, advanced platforms, and a broad range of markets, provided that they are comfortable with the risks of working with an offshore broker.
Please note that for this review of FP Trading I did not:
